Observation task 2 - Roles and responsibilities of the teacher

Focus:  On the classroom

Objective

·      For student teachers to begin to understand the diverse nature of teaching by observing a teacher for the day.

Procedure    

·    Using the following checklist, observe the teacher throughout the day and write down what her/his roles and responsibilities were, and how long was spent on each.

Then use this information to complete table 2b.

Write a summary of what you believe the main roles and responsibilities of a teacher are.

·      What surprised you? Teacher works 5 hours. 2 classes without break in between.

·      What shocked you? Teach three subjects, 2 classes and also have to check the work in home.

·      What delighted you? How teacher dell with children with different situations.

·      What did you learn? New strategies that can dell with children.

·      Did the teacher use a teaching strategy that you liked? Describe it.

Yes, I like her roles in class and how can she makes all students do the work and also all students quiet when she asks them to listen. Additionally she gives the class in morning different lesson and the class in the afternoon different lesson.

Summary

All teachers have different roles in his class to keep control in the classroom and easy to teach them and enjoy teaching and make sure all students understand the lesson. In teaching practice I saw Ms. Lou have a lot of roles that she told them in the first day and she encourage the students who follow the roles to keep control every day. Also she separates the high group together and have different work and the low group work with teacher.
